Dynamic Response of Magnetically Supported Rotor

A theoretical analys is of the dynamic response of a rotor supported in magnetic bearings is presented. This predicted response is compared with the experimental response of a small rotor subjected to an impulse loading produced by a spring loaded solenoid. Theoretical and experimental results arc compared for various stiffness and damping settings for magnetic bearings.
