Hybrid Axial Active Magnetic Bearing – design, modelling and prototype

This article presents concept, design, model and prototype of an hybrid axial magnetic bearing (HAMB). The numerical model developed in COMSOL Multiphysics is presented and analyzed. The manufactured stator and rotor were tested at the laboratory-test rig.
