Undesired vibration caused by mass imbalance is common for a centrifugal compressor supported by magnetic bearings. It poses a potential threat to system stability and operation performance. In this work, a phase-shift notch filter is adopted to suppress the synchronous vibration and stability analysis is given to ensure the system stability in the varying speed range. In order to achieve optimal dynamic performance of vibration control, the objective function is set up based on the time domain response of current, and the optimal notch filter is obtained based on the minimization of the objective function value. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed optimal notch filter on the advancement of dynamic performance is validated through simulation results.
