ISMB18, 2023, Lyon, France

The 18th International Symposium on Magnetic Bearings, ISMB 18, will be held in beautiful Lyon, France, from July 18th to 21st, 2023. This lead conference on magnetic bearings will enable all participants to meet in real life again after a pandemic-related online ISMB 17 in Brasil.

AIM 2023, Moena (Trento), Italy

The IEEE Advances in Magnetics will be held for the fourth time in 2023 in the beautiful mountains of Trento, Italy. IEEE AIM 2023 will represent a forum for presentation and discussion of the most recent advancements in all the fields of magnetics: theory, numerical modelling, experiments and applications. InnoTrans 2022, Berlin, Germany

InnoTrans is considered the most important international trade fair for transport technologies. It takes place every two years in Berlin. Almost all relevant companies that also deal with maglev technologies are regularly represented at InnoTrans. AIM 2021 (Online format!)

The Advances In Magnetics, one of the younger conference series in our field has increased its focus on magnetic levitation devices lately and is holding its third conference. All information can be found here: AIM 2021.

INTERMAG, 2021 (Online format!)

The INTERMAG 2021 Conference was due to be held in Lyon, France, 26-30 April 2021. Very unfortunately, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and associated economic crisis imply that there is a considerable uncertainty which is why the conference has been moved to an online format on April 26-30 2021. ISMB 17, 2021 (Online format!)

The International Symposion on Magnetic Bearings will unite the members of the scientific and industrial magnetic bearings community. Unfortunately, the conference cannot actually invite to Brazil but is held in a virtual format. The Symposium is held from August 18th to 21st. The symposium scope will again include the dominant technological areas of magnetical levitation systems. Further information can be found at the ISMB17 website.

AIM 2020, Moena, Italy

The Advances In Magnetics, one of the younger conference series in our field has increased its focus on magnetic levitation devices lately and is holding its third conference in the beautiful Italian Alps in the upcoming winter (March 11-13, 2020). All information can be found here: AIM 2020.

IEMDC 2019, San Diego, CA, USA

The next IEEE lead conference in the electric machines and drives domain will be held in San Diego, California in May 2019. Call for paper is out, digest submission ends on December 2nd. All information to be found IEMDC website.

PEDS 2019, Toulouse, France

Find all information on next year’s IEEE PEDS2019 which will be held in beautiful Toulouse, France in July 2019. The focus of the conference is traditionally power electronics but the conference always hosts multiple sessions on special electric machines.

The flagship meeting of the magnetic bearing community, the International Symposion on Magnetic Bearings will be held from August 13th to 16th, at Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. ECCE, 2018, Portland, Oregon, USA

The Tenth Annual IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE 2018) will be held in Portland, Oregon, USA on September 23 – 27, 2018. ECCE 2018 is the pivotal international conference and exposition event on electrical and electromechanical energy conversion field. This year, the conference will feature a special tutorial:Lose Your Bearings: an Introduction to Magnetically Suspended Shafts held by Eric Severson, Akira Chiba, Wolfgang Gruber and Rafal Jastrzebski. AIM2018, La Thuile, Italy

Held for the second time, the Italian IEEE Chapter invites to the Advances In Magnetics – AIM – conference in the alpine skiing resort La Thuile from February 4-7, 2018. With topics ranging from magnetic material research to application in electric drives, magnetic bearings, etc. a very relevant portfolio is awaiting the visitors. INTERMAG 2017, Dublin, Ireland

From April 24th to 28th, this year’s INTERMAG conference will be held in Dublin. The conference program includes a significant number of papers on magnetic bearings and bearingless drives. More information can be found at the INTERMAG website.

IEEE – IEMDC 2017, Miami,USA

The upcoming IEMDC will hold several special sessions related to our research field: Bearingless Motors, Optimization for Electrical Machines, High Speed Electrical Machines and Drives, and so on. The submission of a 5-page paper for review is due to December 4th, 2016. Further details are listed on the IEMDC2017 site.

MAGLEV 2016, Berlin, Germany

The MAGLEV 2016 conference will be held in Berlin from September 23-26th, 2016 in cooperation with InnoTrans Berlin 2016. The main theme of MAGLEV 2016 is ‘Maglev Solutions for People, Cities, and Regions’ and it is about all those transportation and energy solutions, especially innovative maglev ones, which could make everyday life easier and transport function smarter. Advances in Magnetics (AIM) Conference 2016, Bormio, Italy

The scope of AIM is to represent a forum where researchers with different backgrounds and expertises may present, discuss, exchange ideas, methods and results about the open issues in magnetism. The session will cover all aspects of magnetic levitation and bearings such as active and passive bearings, bearingless drives, power electronics, modelling, simulation, rotor dynamics, control and industrial applications. 13th Joint MMM-Intermag Conference will be held at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront in San Diego, California. ICINCO 2015

The ICINCO 2015 Conference will be held from July 21-23, 2015 in conjunction with ICETE 2015, ICSOFT 2015, SIMULTECH 2015 and DATA 2015 in Colmar, France. Four simultaneous tracks will be held, covering Intelligent Control Systems, Optimization, Robotics, Automation, Signal Processing, Sensors, Systems Modelling and Control, and Industrial Engineering, Production and Management.
