Development of Magnetically Suspended Sliders for Deployable Antenna Test Facility
Maguetically suspended sliders which can move freely in horizontal plane were developed and applied to original deployable antenna test facility for large antenna deployability tests on the ground. This paper describes slider construction for stable magnetic suspension, control methods and safeguards for reliability improvement. Moreover, as a result of several tests including single slider tests and I-module antelma deployment tests, we obtained that the Oliginal test facility using magnetically suspended sliders was practical.
