MIMO-control of a Flexible Rotor with Active Magnetic Bearing
The paper presents a comparison of different selected MIMO (Multi Input â€“ Multi Output)-control algorithms applied to a test rotor supported by magnetic bearings in the lateral direction. Here, the contribution is focused on the lateral direction. The rotor is considered as flexible, correspondingly, a FE-model is created, and digital controllers are employed. Moreover, a challenge of controlling the rotors of turbocompressors is to take into account the effects of the fluid forces, which destabilize the first forward mode shape in high pressure applications.
